In a bid to ensure a better livelihood for the people of Ogun State, Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has reaffirmed his commitment to deploying developmental policies and programs that will stimulate the state’s economy.

The Governor’s assurance was delivered by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, during the Remo Division Town Hall meeting held in preparation for the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the 2024 Appropriation Bill.

These developmental policies, according to Governor Abiodun, are designed to bolster investments in vital socio-economic sectors, enhance infrastructure development, and ensure sustainable debt management.

Furthermore, they aim to deepen structural reforms in governance, public service, and business regulations across the state.

Speaking at the town hall meeting, Governor Abiodun emphasized the significance of these gatherings, highlighting that they provide a unique platform for the people to actively participate in shaping the state’s developmental needs and requirements.

He expressed his administration’s dedication to consistent formulation and implementation of these policies and programs across all critical sectors.

Governor Abiodun noted that Ogun State has experienced remarkable progress in various development areas over the past twelve months, with significant strides in infrastructural development.

These achievements, he emphasized, are aimed at rapidly transforming the socio-economic well-being of the state’s residents.

The Governor also pledged his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in resource utilization, in line with the provisions of the State Fiscal Responsibility Law. This, he believes, will benefit the overall welfare of the people.

Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, highlighted the importance of citizen engagement and town hall meetings in improving governance.

He stressed that the input of citizens is highly valued and contributes significantly to shaping policies and programs.

Representatives of the Remoland Local Government Chairmen and community leaders expressed their gratitude to the state government for its ongoing projects.

They particularly appreciated initiatives like the Agro Cargo Airport and voiced their expectations that citizens’ requests would be addressed by the Governor.

In his remarks, the Akarigbo of Remoland, HRM Oba (Dr). Babatunde Ajayi, praised the government’s developmental projects but also highlighted the need for improvements in roads, security, power supply, and digital learning facilities in schools.

The Ewusi of Makun, HRH Oba Timothy Akinsanya, expressed appreciation for the government’s strides across the state and urged the construction of a crucial road, among other requests.

He also called for the provision of a fire-fighting vehicle for unforeseen emergencies.

Representatives of the Muslim and Christian communities at the meeting emphasized the need for additional religious teachers in schools across the state.

In summary, Governor Abiodun’s administration is committed to pursuing robust developmental policies that will uplift the Ogun State economy and enhance the well-being of its people.

The town hall meeting served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration between the government and citizens, ensuring that their input plays a pivotal role in shaping the state’s future.
