Ogun State Governor,Dapo Abiodun has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to an all-inclusive style of governance, promising to maintain transparency and citizen involvement in decision-making processes in the state.
The governor expressed his vision to provide focused and high-quality governance, creating an environment conducive to public-private partnerships that are vital for sustainable economic development and individual prosperity.
Speaking at the Citizen’s Engagement on the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and 2024 Budget in the Ijebu division of Ogun State, the governor, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, emphasized the significance of multi-year public expenditure planning.
This process sets the foundation for future budget requirements, resource allocation, and policy changes, enhancing transparency in the budgeting process.
Governor Abiodun highlighted that the medium-term expenditure framework empowers the government to determine its priorities, ensuring the delivery of democratic outcomes without bias.
He proudly stated, “We have perhaps the most conducive environment and adequate infrastructural development models that ensure that Ogun State is the safest place to live, work, and do business.”
The governor expressed his appreciation to Royal Fathers, Community Leaders, and the Neighborhood Watch and Hunters for their unwavering support in enhancing security and peaceful coexistence in Ogun State.
He also recognized the continuous growth of businesses and the influx of new investments into the state, indicating the success of the government’s efforts.
The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olu Olabimtan, emphasized the importance of citizen feedback in decision-making and sector prioritization, underscoring the administration’s commitment to the feedback mechanism.
Hon. Emilola Gazal, Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, commended the state government for its fulfillment of many promises.
He urged Governor Abiodun to prioritize road projects, especially the Ondo and Ijebu-Ife to Ikangba roads.
Chief Oluneye Okuboyejo, Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council, called for urgent road repairs in various areas and emphasized the need to boost agriculture for increased food sufficiency.
The Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, represented by the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo, Oba Jayeoba Adebajo, stressed the necessity of opening rural roads to facilitate the transportation of farm produce, preventing waste due to poor road conditions.
Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Rasak Adenugba, and representatives from the league of Imams and Alfas in Ijebu, Muftau Rufai Soli, along with the Christian Association of Nigeria, Apostle Korede Awolesi, commended the governor for his developmental achievements in Ijebuland.
They called for more programs and policies to boost agriculture, security, electricity, and infrastructure in the state, while advocating for policies to make youths more productive and support rural teachers.
