Ogun State Governor,  Dapo Abiodun, has unveiled his ambitious plan, the “Light Up Power Project,” at a breakfast meeting with CEOs and industry leaders in Abeokuta.

The initiative is poised to secure uninterrupted 24-hour power supply across the state, a pivotal step towards enhancing manufacturing and streamlining production processes.

Governor Abiodun, emphasizing the project’s significance, outlined his administration’s commitment to prioritize power generation during his second term.

He assured stakeholders that the Light Up Project aims to achieve its goals before his tenure concludes in 2027, with a focus on acquiring the Olorunsogo Power Plant in collaboration with the private sector.

The governor highlighted the importance of increased gas supply to industrial clusters, particularly in the Agbara axis, signaling a comprehensive approach to address the power needs of the state.

He reaffirmed his promise, stating, “As a promise-keeping Governor, we will ensure 24 hours uninterrupted power supply in Ogun State.”

Addressing the investors, Governor Abiodun urged them to intensify corporate social responsibility efforts and emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to infrastructure.

He announced plans for regular quarterly breakfast meetings with CEOs to foster continuous dialogue and promptly address critical issues raised by investors.

Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, underscored the government’s dedication to creating a conducive operating environment for industrial organizations and prospective investors.

He affirmed that Ogun would persist in its developmental policies, paving the way for economic growth and global competitiveness.

Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, Mr. George Onafowokan, expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun for the interactive session, hailing Ogun as the industrial capital and home of domestic direct investment in Nigeria.

The positive reception from industry leaders suggests a promising trajectory for Ogun State’s economic landscape under the “Light Up Power Project.”
