Abuja-Based Lawyer Shares Harrowing Tale Of Terrorists In Army Uniform Abducting Wife, Children

Abuja-based lawyer, Oladosu Ariyo, took to social media platform X (previously known as Twitter) to recount a horrifying incident where terrorists, disguised in military uniforms, invaded his home in Sagwari Layout Estate, Dutse, Abuja, and abducted his wife, a fellow lawyer, and their four children.

Ariyo revealed that despite raising several millions of naira through generous donations, the kidnappers, unmoved, refused to accept the ransom.

Tragically, his firstborn, 13-year-old Michelle Ariyo, was killed by the terrorists due to the inability to meet their demanded N60million ransom.

In an urgent plea to the Nigerian Bar Association, led by Yakubu Maikyau, Ariyo called for immediate intervention in rescuing his remaining family members.

Expressing frustration with the government’s response to insecurity, he questioned when these kidnappings would end.

The incident, which occurred on January 7 at 7:30 p.m., involved terrorists masquerading as military soldiers storming Sagwari village, abducting a total of 11 individuals, including a woman and her four children, a receptionist, and a barman from a nearby hotel.

Tragically, the lifeless body of Folashade Ariyo, along with three others, including Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, was discovered near a former military roadblock in Kaduna State.

The kidnappers, citing delays in ransom payment, increased their demand to N100million for each remaining victim.
