The national leadership of the Accord Party has boldly declared that the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, should start preparing to hand over power to the party’s governorship candidate in 2027.

This statement comes as Abiodun, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), serves his second term in office, which the Accord Party confidently predicts will be his last.

This declaration was made shortly after the emergence of new executive members of the Accord Party in Ogun State, led by Michael Oke.

The Chairman of the Ogun State Congress Committee, Abdulazeez Salawudeen, emphasized that the party has set the wheels in motion to wrest control of the state from the APC-led government come 2027.

Salawudeen, alongside other committee members, Gabriel Kubua (Secretary) and Pastor Victor Akande, the Chairman of Accord in Osun State, expressed unwavering confidence in the party’s philosophy of welfarism.

According to him, no other political party in Nigeria embodies the ideals of welfarism like the Accord Party. “Welfarism is Accord’s philosophy,” Salawudeen stated.

“Accord is ready to take over Nigeria, and Ogun State is no exception. Governor Dapo Abiodun should be preparing to hand over the Accord in 2027.”

In a demonstration of the party’s readiness for the upcoming electoral battle, Salawudeen announced the newly elected state executive of the Accord Party, affirming that the Michael Oke-led executive is well-equipped to face the challenges of the 2027 elections.

The state congress, which was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through a monitoring committee led by Uzoamaka Utegbulu, saw the participation of 60 delegates.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Michael Oke, expressed deep gratitude to the party members for their trust and commitment.

Oke vowed to serve the party selflessly and to work tirelessly for the collective interest of all members.

He underscored the importance of unity, clarity of purpose, and dedication to the party’s ideals as the pillars upon which the party’s success would be built.

“I extend my sincere thanks to our national executive members, whose wisdom and intervention have brought lasting peace to the challenges we have faced in Ogun State,” Oke said.

He also extended an olive branch to any party members in Ogun State who may still harbor grievances, urging them to join in the shared mission to elevate Accord to its rightful place in the hearts and minds of the people.

Oke stressed  that his leadership was not for any group or faction but for all members of the party.

He pledged total allegiance to the national leadership and called for unity in building a stronger, more united party that reflects the hopes and aspirations of the people they serve.
