The 2025 Victory Life Bible Church International Women’s Convention has rounded off in Abeokuta with a rallying call for women to deepen their trust in God as a pathway to fulfilling purpose, even in the face of growing social and family pressures.
The four-day programme, themed “Overflow”, drew hundreds of participants and featured teachings centred on spiritual resilience, family stability and personal transformation.
Delivering his closing exhortation, the Lead Pastor of the church, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, urged women to remain unwavering in their faith, insisting that life’s difficulties become surmountable only when anchored in God.
“Affliction will come, but let it find you rooted in God,” he told the congregation. “It is His help that lifts you beyond every difficulty. Human effort without divine backing will always fall short.”
Apostle Achudume, who lamented the rising strain modern pressures place on marriages, appealed to couples to embrace patience, emotional intelligence and mutual honour. According to him, peaceful homes remain the bedrock of personal fulfilment and societal stability.
He also announced 2026 as the ‘Year of Eagle’s Wing’, drawing from Exodus 19:4. He likened God’s promised intervention to an eagle lifting its young to soar, saying the coming year would bring supernatural strength, clarity and speed to believers.
“God will lift you, guide you and help you reach new heights,” he declared, prompting loud cheers from participants.
The guest minister, Pastor Barbara Kiweweisi from Kampala, Uganda, delivered a stirring message inspired by the biblical story of David and Goliath. She charged women to recognize their inner strength and confront adversities with confidence.
“Like David, who defeated Goliath by trusting God, you too can overcome every giant in your life,” she said, urging women to embrace courage and resilience regardless of prevailing circumstances.
A major highlight of the event was the tribute to the late Reverend Fola Achudume, founder of the annual Women’s Convention.
Her legacy of empowerment was reflected through scholarships awarded to several children, alongside grants disbursed to entrepreneurs and vulnerable individuals.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying the gesture continues the late Reverend’s lifelong passion for supporting the less privileged and uplifting families.
The convention ended with a vibrant parade of generational groups—Sarah, Esther, Mary and Deborah, each adorned in symbolic colours such as orange, purple-on-white and baby pink. Youths and unmarried women added energy to the hall with spirited praise, dance and worship sessions.
Participants described the 2025 edition as both spiritually enriching and socially impactful, reinforcing the role of women in shaping families, communities and the nation.
