The General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church International, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, has urged Nigerians to embrace integrity and shun betrayal, declaring that the nation’s future depends largely on credibility and upright leadership as it approaches 2026.
Achudume, who spoke with journalists in Abeokuta, described leadership as a sacred trust that must be exercised in the interest of the people and national development.
He lamented what he called Nigeria’s credibility crisis on the global stage, warning that a lack of integrity had continued to erode the country’s international image.
According to him, nations are judged by their values and conduct. “The world judges us by our actions. It is time for Nigeria to prove itself worthy of respect and trust,” he said.
Despite the challenges, the cleric expressed strong optimism about Nigeria’s prospects, noting that Nigerians excel across different sectors around the world.
He said the country’s global achievements were evidence of its vast human potential, which must now be replicated at home.
“Nigeria is making waves globally through its people. What we need is to translate that excellence into our national life so that the country can work for everyone,” Achudume said.
He offered prayers for visionary leadership, a prosperous future for Nigerian children and a nation driven by justice, productivity and shared prosperity.
The cleric also cautioned Nigerian youths against the misuse of artificial intelligence and modern technology, warning that they could promote deception and false realities if not properly guided.
He advised young people to remain grounded in African values, character and authentic human relationships.
Achudume further stressed the importance of spiritual depth and moral clarity, saying the presence of God brings direction, hope and righteousness.
He cited biblical figures such as Joseph and David as examples of individuals whose success, he said, was rooted in faith and integrity.
Addressing fellow Christian leaders, he called for sincerity in ministry, urging them to align their teachings with their personal conduct. “Preach what you practice, and practice what you preach,” he said.
On the church’s 2026 theme, “On Eagles’ Wings,” Achudume said Victory Life Bible Church International was poised to rise above challenges and inspire resilience among its members.
He concluded with prayers for Nigeria’s agricultural revival and economic growth, expressing confidence that current challenges could become catalysts for national progress and renewal.
