The Adeola Odutola College Old Students Association (AOCOSA) 79-84 Set has ushered in a new era of leadership following the conclusion of its recent online elections.
The newly elected executives, who will serve a two-year term from 2024 to 2026, have pledged to foster unity and enhance the association’s impact.
Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, announced the results, revealing that Mr. Alade Harrison Onabanjo was unanimously elected as the new President.
Onabanjo, who secured 100 percent of the votes, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and emphasised the importance of inclusive leadership.
“Let’s join hands to make our set a role model among others,” Onabanjo urged his fellow alumni in his acceptance speech, vowing to lead with responsibility, loyalty, and integrity.
Other key positions filled during the election include Mr. Abdulazeez Olawale Balogun as Vice President, who garnered 91.1 percent of the votes.
The position of Secretary was won by Mr. Moshood Bajo with 77.1 percent, while Mrs. Ramotalai Aribike Oseni was elected as Assistant Secretary with 58.6 percent of the votes.
In the financial arm, Ms. Adetutu Ogunba was elected as Treasurer with 50 percent of the votes, and Mrs. Funmilayo Akeeb secured the role of Financial Secretary with a commanding 96.7 percent.
The Welfare/Social Officer position went to Ms. Idowu Alice Aiyenuro, who received 61.8 percent of the votes, while Ms. Titilayo Kuburat Abass was elected Public Relations Officer (PRO) with 98.8 percent.
Additionally, Barrister Aderinsayo Adewunmi was unanimously chosen as the Legal Advisor, Bishop Olalekan Wasiu as Auditor with 96.9 percent, and Mr. Shakiru Abiodun Balogun as Ex-Officio with 100 percent.
The election marks a significant moment for the AOCOSA 79-84 Set, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary by donating solar street lights worth millions of naira to their alma mater, Adeola Odutola College.
The newly elected President, Onabanjo, reiterated the commitment of the new executive team to work collaboratively to elevate the status of the association and contribute meaningfully to the college’s continued growth and success.
