Nigeria have gone top of Group D of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.

The Super Eagles claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Libya in a MatchDay 3 fixture on Friday.

The game was played at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored the only goal of the game in the dying moments.

The result means Nigeria now have seven points, one more than Benin Republic, who hammered Rwanda 3-0 in an earlier match.

Augustine Eguavoen’s men will travel to face the Mediterranean Knights in three days.
