In a resolute response to the recent rumors regarding his health, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has emphatically denied any plans to return to Germany for further medical treatment.

His Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, issued a statement dismissing the reports as baseless and the product of “evil-minded politicians.”

Addressing concerns and providing an update on the state’s progress, Olatunde asserted that the rumors were the handiwork of politicians who have yet to recover from their election losses and are grasping at straws.

He urged the public to disregard the false news, emphasizing the governor’s unwavering dedication to serving the people of Ondo State and driving the state’s development.

Olatunde’s statement highlighted various initiatives and achievements under Governor Akeredolu’s administration, showcasing a commitment to addressing the genuine concerns of the state’s citizens.

Notably, the governor recently approved the recruitment of medical professionals and healthcare workers to enhance the state’s healthcare system.

He also signed the 2023 Appropriation bill for the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) into law, a significant step in advancing the development of the oil-producing region.

Furthermore, the statement provided updates on several ongoing projects, including the construction of a 250-bed University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital in Akure and Ondo Town, the progress of the Akure flyover at Onyarubulem/Shagari Junction, and the recruitment of 150 staff for the state Internal Revenue Service. Modern tax stations are under construction in Ondo and Ikare, along with a Revenue court in Akure.

Governor Akeredolu’s administration places a high value on the welfare of state workers, with the recent approval of outstanding leave bonuses and consistent salary payments up to date.

Contrary to opposition claims, the statement underlined that the governor is diligently fulfilling his duties, with activities ongoing in various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), and his active engagement in addressing state matters.

This firm response from the Ondo State government not only clears the air on the governor’s health but also reaffirms the administration’s dedication to advancing the state’s development and well-being of its citizens.
