Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has officially signed into law a bill that paves the way for the establishment of 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) within the state.

The bill, which had received prior approval from the state House of Assembly, was presented to Governor Akeredolu for his assent during a brief ceremony attended by prominent legislative figures, including the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oladiji Landmark Olamide, Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Prince Abayomi Babatunde Akinruntan, Majority Leader Hon. Oluwole Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi, and Parliamentary Secretary Hon. Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju.

With the governor’s signature, the bill now carries the necessary legal authority for the creation of the LCDAs in Ondo State.

The establishment of these LCDAs is a significant step toward fulfilling Governor Akeredolu’s campaign promises and meeting the aspirations of the state’s residents for more comprehensive grassroots development.

Olabode Richard Olatunde, the governor’s spokesperson, emphasized that this initiative reflects Akeredolu’s unwavering commitment to enhancing public service delivery by bringing governance closer to the people. This move is expected to lead to more responsive and efficient government services.

Olatunde further highlighted Akeredolu’s dedication to executing impactful projects and innovative initiatives, demonstrating his resolve to advance the development of the Sunshine State.
