In a heartwarming virtual address, former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun,on Thursday, marked his 66th birthday amidst fervent birthday prayers organized at his Abeokuta residence.

The celebration took a unique turn as he joined his supporters and political associates  from  Saudi Arabia through virtual channels.

Amosun, visibly elated, expressed gratitude to supporters hailing from all corners of the state, emphasizing the importance of continued patriotism among his followers.

Despite being away in Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage, the atmosphere at his Ibara GRA residence was vibrant, filled with the presence of family, friends, political associates, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate this milestone.

The celebration kicked off with special prayers conducted by Islamic scholars and clerics from the Egba Muslim community.

The recitation of the holy Qur’an followed, expressing gratitude to the Almighty for preserving the former governor to witness yet another birthday.

During a sermon at the ceremony, Imam Mohammed Bashir Ibrahim emphasized the divine nature of position and wealth, encouraging privileged members of society to focus on God and align their actions with His will, a sentiment reflected in Senator Amosun’s own life.

In a remarkable display of generosity, Senator Amosun seized the occasion to extend his birthday goodwill to inmates of correctional services in Abeokuta, Oba, Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, and Ilaro.

Bags of rice and cash gifts were donated to these centers, embodying the spirit of compassion.

The former governor’s benevolence extended further, with donations of bags of rice and cash to children at the Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home, Ibara GRA Abeokuta, Borstal Remand Home in Adigbe, and the Daniel Akintonde School for the Physically Challenged.

January 25th has become a unique and eagerly anticipated day for Senator Ibikunle Amosun and many Ogun State indigenes, as they join in celebrating not just the former governor’s birthday but also the goodwill he consistently extends to the people.
