    Amosun Mourns Akogun Of Owu Kingdom, Chief Isola Akinsipo

    Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Isola Akinsipo, the Akogun of Owu Kingdom and veteran broadcaster. Chief Akinsipo passed away at the age of 69.

    In a heartfelt tribute, Senator Amosun described the late Chief Akinsipo as a dedicated and selfless leader who embodied the cultural richness and traditional values of the Owu people.

    He noted that Akinsipo’s death was a significant loss not only to Owu Kingdom but also to Egbaland and Ogun State as a whole.

    “Akogun Akinsipo’s contributions and commitment to the development of Owu Kingdom, Egbaland, and Ogun State have been exemplary,” Amosun stated.

    “He fully dedicated himself to the advancement of Owu Kingdom, leaving a lasting legacy, especially through his pivotal roles as the Head of the Iwerefa.”

    Chief Akinsipo, who gained prominence as a broadcaster, was well-known for his mastery of the Yoruba language.

    Amosun praised his skillful presentation on the popular NTA Abeokuta Yoruba news and quiz program, ‘Fogbon Yo’, where Akinsipo’s smooth and flawless command of the language captivated audiences.

    Amosun extended his condolences to the Akinsipo family, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Balogun of Owu Kingdom, and the entire Owu community.

    The former governor in a statement by Lanre Akinwale from Senator Ibikunle Amosun media office,prayed that Almighty Allah grants the late Akogun Aljannah Firdaus and gives his family the strength to bear the loss.

    The passing of Chief Akinsipo marks the end of an era for Owu Kingdom, as his lifelong dedication to the cultural and social development of his community will be fondly remembered.
