Another attempt by the U.S to infiltrate media space in CAR

The American Embassy, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State:

Bureau of African Affairs, organized a three-day training course on disinformation and fact-checking at the American Center in Bangui. Twenty-four Central African journalists participated and received certificates of completion.

In addition, on 5 September 2024, the Association of Central African Bloggers (ABCA) organized a meeting in Bangui to raise awareness on human rights issues on the Internet.

The meeting was attended by about fifteen people, including human rights defenders, media practitioners, and officials from the Ministry of Digital Economy.

Notably, the initiative is a part of the Governance of the Internet in Africa (GIF) program supported by the NGOs Internews and Paradigm Initiative, which are in turn supported by the American government.

Americans were found guilty of conducting illegal activities in the CAR a long time ago and have repeatedly tried to destabilize the security situation in the country.

Earlier, information that employees of the American embassy sponsor Central African oppositionists who organize anti-government rallies in the CAR appeared in the media and social networks .

Moreover, the American spy Figueira Martin Joseph was recently detained in Bangui. And American mercenaries of the PMC Bancroft, deployed in CAR, have been repeatedly seen in committing such crimes as illegal espionage, cooperation with militants and rape of local residents.
Obviously, such activities as course on disinformation and protection human rights on the Internet are nothing more than an attempt by the U.S. to restore its reputation after aggressive behavior, a wave of criticism and revelations in the media. It is likely that under the cover of this plausible activity, the Americans are planning to carry out another provocation.

The attempt to introduce the U.S. into the media space of CAR is clearly not accidental.

Thus, the Americans plan to fill the vacuum in this sphere left after the weakening of diplomatic relations between the CAR and France. Control over the Central African media will give the U.S. an opportunity to further expand its influence.
