The Federal Ministry of Health has approved the appointment of Mrs. Olawunmi Florence Ladeji as the substantive and first female Director of Administration at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.
The appointment, which took effect on September 11, 2025, was confirmed through a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Abuja, with reference number SMH.547/T/92 dated October 17, 2025.
According to a statement signed by the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Joseph Ajibola, on behalf of the Provost and Medical Director, Mrs. Ladeji’s appointment followed an impressive performance during the rigorous selection process conducted by the Ministry.
An indigene of Abeokuta, Ogun State, Mrs. Ladeji was born on January 15, 1972. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos (1998) and a Master’s degree in Managerial Psychology from the University of Ibadan (2008).
Having joined the hospital’s administrative department in 2003 as an Administrative Officer II, Mrs. Ladeji has steadily risen through the ranks, serving in various capacities including Acting Head of Administration and Deputy Director of Administration before her latest elevation.
Described as an exemplary administrator with a passion for institutional excellence, she has been actively involved in several key committees within the hospital. These include serving as Secretary and Desk Officer of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), Secretary of the Pharmacy and Medical Laboratory Internship Committee, Chairman of the Counselling Unit, and member of the Crèche Management Committee, among others.
Mrs. Ladeji is a Doctoral Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM) and an Associate of the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria (IHSAN).
She is also a certified participant of the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN) and the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), where she completed advanced human resource management training.
Ajibola described her as “a thoroughbred administrator whose career has been marked by discipline, competence, and a commitment to the hospital’s tripartite mandate of clinical service delivery, research, and training.”
He added, “Her appointment is a testament to her dedication and integrity. The management is confident that she will bring fresh energy and strategic leadership to the administrative department.”
Known for her excellence in performance management, Mrs. Ladeji has expressed commitment to working closely with the Provost and Medical Director to further strengthen the hospital’s administrative efficiency and service delivery.
Outside her professional life, she enjoys listening to intellectual music, counseling, traveling, and reading. She is married to Pastor George ’Segun Ladeji, and their marriage is blessed with children.
