The ASADE Royal Dynasty, on Saturday, held its 5th Annual Royal Day celebration amid pomp and pageantry at the Asade Royal Family Arcade Ground, drawing sons and daughters of the royal house from across Nigeria and the diaspora in a colourful display of unity, heritage and cultural pride.
The event, which attracted family members from Ilaro, Ijoga Orile, Ikeja, Iba, Ogba and other parts of the country, also brought together traditional leaders, community stakeholders, friends and well-wishers, who lauded the dynasty’s consistency in promoting togetherness and preserving royal history.
Cultural performances by Ajan Gbode, Igbe, Bolojo and Iyawole Adekanbi added vibrancy to the celebration, as guests were treated to rhythmic dances and traditional music that reflected the richness of Yoruba culture. One of the emotional highlights of the ceremony was the rendition of the ASADE Royal Dynasty Anthem and the Ipokia Anthem, both delivered with visible pride and a strong sense of belonging.
Spiritual reflection also featured prominently, as a Qur’an recitation by members of the royal family offered prayers for peace, unity, progress and continuous blessings for the dynasty and the Ipokia community.
Speaking at the event, the Royal Secretary of the ASADE Royal Dynasty, Prince Adewale Mustapha Asade, described the annual gathering as a strategic platform for strengthening bonds and transmitting values to younger generations.
“The ASADE Royal Day is more than a celebration; it is a platform for unity, documentation of our history and grooming the younger generation to understand where they come from. We are deliberate in preserving our traditions in harmony with our Islamic faith, and this unity remains our greatest strength,” he said.
The Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Prince Ganiu Adelani, said the impressive turnout and feedback reflected the family’s commitment to continuity and cohesion.
“This celebration is about bonding, culture and continuity. We appreciate everyone who supported the planning and execution, and we promise that the next edition will be even better, Insha’Allah,” he added.
Guests were also treated to assorted meals, while gifts and awards were presented to individuals and supporters who have contributed to the growth and unity of the dynasty.
In recent years, the ASADE Royal Dynasty’s annual celebration has attracted commendation from within and outside Ipokia, with observers noting that many families are beginning to emulate the initiative as a model for cultural preservation, mentoring and family cohesion, especially in a way that respects religious values.
The family expressed gratitude to guests, performers and supporters for making the 5th edition a success, while assuring that preparations are already underway for a more impactful 6th Annual ASADE Royal Day celebration.
The ceremony once again underscored the enduring legacy, royal identity and strong unity that define the ASADE Royal Dynasty.
