In a show of solidarity, the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools in Ogun State (ASUSS) has vowed to back the developmental pursuits of the Ogun State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA).

During a courtesy visit by executive members of Ogun ANA to the ASUSS Secretariat in Abeokuta, Chairman Comrade Felix Agbesanwa affirmed ASUSS’s commitment to fostering a vibrant reading culture in the state.

He announced plans to modernize school libraries with up-to-date books and internet-enabled computers.

Comrade Agbesanwa further expressed ASUSS’s support for the upcoming convention of the South West Authors Forum (SWAF) scheduled for April in Abeokuta, emphasizing the union’s dedication to the success of the event.

Dr. Chris Omotosho, the Ogun State Chairman of ANA, sought collaboration with the over 11,000 members of ASUSS to elevate the standard of education in the state.

He also advocated for the integration of books penned by bona-fide ANA members into the state’s education curriculum.

The reception committee, led by Comrade Agbesanwa, included ASUSS Secretary Comrade Akeem Oluseyi Bankole, Mrs. Abimbola Kudehinbu, Comrade Michael Akinniyi, and Comrade Ayobami Oyetunji.

Dr. Omotosho, accompanied by ANA Secretary Mr. Femi Sanyaolu, Treasurer Mr. Sam Ogunyinka, and PRO Dare Folarin, expressed gratitude for ASUSS’s commitment to collaboration, foreseeing a positive impact on education in Ogun State.
