The former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Segun Sowunmi has scored high the Independent National Electoral Commission over the election process in Ogun state.
Sowunmi cast his vote at polling unit 4 ward 6,Itoko ,Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State .
He said he was impressed with the process so far .
He said “the accreditation has been pretty smooth and people have turned out as much as they can, so, what we are hoping for is that as the process was advertised and made known to us that things would be transmitted to the IREV and to the portal in Abuja, the truth of the matter is that once election has been done at the polling unit people have their expectation on how well the election is to be conducted, at least from what I can see BVAS is working well, accreditation is on going, we have done our part, let those in charge of counting the votes and transmitting the result do their own part.”
“There is so much to be lost if the integrity of an election process is destroyed, as far as I can see so far so good.
“I think Ogun people we Cn be proud of ourselves, we hace demonstrated that truly democracy works here, I am not even anyone can call off the election for now because it seems to be a close race, the enthuzium and campaign has indicted that it ius quite close and for the first time in our state we are having like a three horse race but I believe that the PDP will be victorious and may the best man wins.
“We were very optimistic at the last presidential election and you all are witnesses of what happened across the country.
“Now again we have come, accreditation has worked and we are very optimistic but the reality of the matter is that we have until we get to the point of collation and announcement of the result will be done and we would see whether the IREV worked this time, until then we would not be able to say anything so I will say we have very cautious optimize.”
