Governor Biodun Oyebanji has appointed Justice Lekan Ogunmoye as acting Chief Judge of Ekiti State. This was contained in a statement signed by Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode, on November 5, 2024. “He replaces the former Chief Judge, Hon Justice John Oyewole Adeyeye, who passed on November 4, 2024,” the statement affirmed. The police in Imo has confirmed a bomb explosion in the state. The explosion reportedly caused stampede and confusion as people ran helter-skelter, leading to many being injured. It is reported that people were in the market when the explosion was heard and everyone scampered for safety. Some persons were reportedly killed by the explosion. The naira appreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange amid a rise in FX supply. FMDQ data showed that the naira strengthened slightly to N1671 per dollar on Tuesday from N1676.90 recorded on Monday. This represents a marginal N5.9 gain against the dollar.
