There was panic on Thursday as the Five-Star foot pedestrian bridge on the ever-busy Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos collapsed on Thursday. It was gathered that the bridge partially collapsed around 6:30 a.m., blocking a part of the road. Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said preliminary investigations revealed that an articulated truck carrying heavy equipment collided with the bridge earlier in the day, causing cracks and subsequent collapse.
