The Benue State House of Assembly has approved the downward review of 2024 supplementary budget to the tune of N23.5 billion to help accommodate ongoing discussions and negotiations surrounding the new minimum wage for public sector employees. The Labour Party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, has announced the schedule for the upcoming congresses slated to hold at the ward, local government and state levels. According to Obiorah Ifoh, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, the ward congresses will take place from February to March 2025, local government congress from April to May 2025 while the state congresses are scheduled for June to July 2025.
