Kwara State Ministry of Environment on Thursday discovered an illegal dump site along General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin, the state capital, where some commercial waste collectors and other residents have been dumping their refuse in violation of the state environmental law. The ministry also apprehended Inspector Adamu Usman, a police officer attached to the airport, who was allegedly aiding and abetting the illegal activity. The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversion plan for the reconstruction of Lagos-Badagry Carriageway. The state Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said this in a statement on Friday in Lagos. Osiyemi said the diversion which would commence from August 26, 2024 to Jan 31, 2025, would be in sections to minimise inconveniences for motorists. He added that the first section of the reconstruction covering the stretch of Durbar Junction, Badagry Bound (on both toll lanes and service lanes), would start Aug. 26 to Sept. 30, 2024.
