Seven persons have been arrested in connection with alleged attack on two officers of Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA). DAILY POST gathered that two officers of the agency, Oyedepo Samuel and Waheed Quadri, were allegedly assaulted by tricycle riders and hoodlums in Ibadan. It was learnt that the duo sustained severe injuries after they were attacked with iron rods, stones, and sticks at the Water Corporation gate. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) on Thursday revealed that troops of Operation Delta Safe destroyed about 216 illegal refining sites across the Niger Delta region in October. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, made this known while briefing newsmen on the operations of the military in Abuja. Buba said the troops also destroyed 195 wooden boats as well as recovered 30 vehicles and 429 assorted ammunition during the period. The Oyo State Government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde has approved N80,000 as minimum wage for workers in the state. Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, made this declaration in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday evening. Oyelade in the statement, said that the Technical Committee set up by the state government recommended the amount. He added that the state governor has approved the recommendation.
