The House of Representatives has called on the Federal government to urgently curb the rapidly escalating kidnapping and insurgency-related activities in Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Local Government areas of Plateau state. The Zamfara State Government said the payment of N70,000 new minimum wage to civil servants in the state will commence in March, 2025. This came as the state government and the organised labour have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the N70, 000 new minimum wage. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Bola Tinubu to disclose the names of the companies and contractors who collected over N167 billion mobilisation fees from 31 ministries, departments, and agencies of government (MDAs) without executing the projects. The inspector-general of police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered immediate investigation into the unfortunate boat incident that occurred in Kogi State, where many lives were lost on Friday.
