Kaduna State Police Command has paraded a total of 523 suspects arrested for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities across the state. A statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Munsir Hassan, disclosed that among these, 26 were arrested for kidnapping, 12 for cattle rustling, 97 suspects were apprehended for phone snatching, 17 for car snatching while 10 persons were accused of rape, amongst others. Hundreds of Women of Effium and Ezza-Effium community in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi State have staged a peaceful protest calling for the immediate release of their husbands and children languishing in prisons over the lingering communal crisis between the two neighbouring communities. Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 3.46% (year-on-year) in real terms in the third quarter of 2024, latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has shown. The growth rate is higher than the 2.54% recorded in the third quarter of 2023 and higher than the second quarter of 2024 growth of 3.19%.
