Nigerian troops successfully rescued a former Provost of the Federal College of Education (FCE) in Gusau,Dr. Hassan Abubakar Augie, and his son after a fierce gun-battle with bandits in Zamfara.  The victims were rescued  on Friday, by   troops from Sector 1 Operation Hadarin Daji, stationed at Forward Operating Base Mada in Zamfara state,who  were conducting a routine patrol along the Shemori – Yandoto road in the Marke general area. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disclosed its Consolidated Financial Statements for the past seven years. This marks the first instance since 2015 that the apex bank is allowing the public to scrutinize its financial records. The released Consolidated Financial Statements pertain to the financial periods of 2016 through 2022. Notably, the CBN’s profits after tax surged from N75.13 billion to N103.8 billion in 2022. The Ekiti State government has taken the decision to suspend Chief Gabriel Bodunde, a traditional chief in Imesi Ekiti, situated in the Gbonyin Local Government Area of the state.  This action comes as a response to allegations of disrespect, high-handedness, and insubordination directed towards the town’s monarch, Oba Olatunji Olatunde. Kano State governor,  Abba Yusuf, has appointed 97 persons as his aides to serve as Special Advisers and Assistants. The series of appointments were made after his inauguration on May 29 until August.
