About 103 communities in Ahoada West LGA of Rivers State have suffered severe flooding following a combination of heavy rainfall and a massive overflow of the Orashi River. It was gathered that in Akinima, headquarters of the LGA, many homes and farms have almost been completely submerged by the floodwaters. Some of the affected communities include Mbiama, Akinima, Engenni, and Enedua, among others.
