A 37 years old man, Emmanuel Ighoruemu, has allegedly defiled his neighbour’s eight year old daughter (name withheld) in Egbo community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State. The suspect was arrested based on the efforts of a human right activist, Comrade Kelvin Ejumudo. The chairman of the Benue State chapter of the Trade Union Congress, Gideon Akaa, has said the union is still dialoguing with the government over the new minimum wage. The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested a Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, truck driver, Afeez Adegbola, for allegedly diverting 10,000 litres of petrol belonging to the company. The state commandant of the corps, Mr Igbalawole Sotiyo, disclosed this while parading the suspect and his two motor boys on Saturday in Osogbo. Sotiyo explained that the suspects were arrested on Friday at about 8:21 pm with the NNPCL truck. Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, said it has restored bulk power supply to Gombe-Damaturu-Maiduguri 330 kilovolt transmission line. Spokesperson of TCN Ndidi Mbah disclosed this in a statement on Friday. This comes after transmission line was vandalized on September 22, 2024, which plunged the area into darkness. The National Economic Council, NEC, on Thursday confirmed that 321 persons lost their lives in the flood disaster which has so far ravaged 34 states of the federation.
