In a major crackdown on corruption and illegal activities, the Lagos State Police Command apprehended a group of law enforcement officers and criminals involved in extortion.  The joint operation, conducted between Friday and Saturday,targeted individuals engaging in illicit activities around the Mile 2 area of Lagos. The Nigeria Customs Service has explained that the closure of Nigeria’s borders with Niger Republic is not a declaration of war between the two countries as speculated.
