The Ogun State government has advised residents of flooded areas affected by the recent release of water from Oyan Dam to relocate to higher ground in line with its earlier warning. The Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Ola Oresanya, on Wednesday, said the release of excess water by the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (ORBDA) from the Oyan Dam was unavoidable to avert damage that might lead to unpalatable consequences. The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, has declared that the Supreme Court’s judgment on local government autonomy can’t be overturned. Speaking in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Tuesday, Fagbemi said the Supreme Court’s judgment is non-negotiable. A Deputy Comptroller of the Nigerian Correctional Services, NCoS, Emby Anukwara, has disclosed that crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, was kept in a ‘privilege cell’ during his jail term in Kirikiri Prison.
