The National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has stated that a significant number of illicit weapons currently in circulation in Nigeria originally belonged to the Federal Government. The police in Niger State have confirmed the death of a yet-to-be-identified man after an alleged marathon sex with a lady at the Paiko Local Government Area lodge in the state. The spokesman of the police, SP Wasi’u Abiodun, confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday. Abiodun said the incident is being investigated pending the completion of a medical autopsy. Nigeria’s headline inflation increased to 32.70 percent in September 2024 from 32.15 recorded in August amid the hike in the pump price of petrol. The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, disclosed this on Tuesday in its Consumer Price Index and Inflation report for September 2024. Looking at the movement, the September 2024 headline inflation rate showed an increase of 0.55 percent compared to the August 2024 headline inflation rate. The Lagos State Police Command has dragged two men, Chiagoziem Obi, and Joseph Nkpokpo, before an Ojo Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, over alleged stealing of chairs valued at N9.6million. The defendants are standing trial before Magistrate A. Alade on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, to which the two men pleaded not guilty.
