A tall and fair in complexion babysitter has reportedly bolted away with a  two-month-old baby, Usman Idris. The Peoples Democratic Party,presidential candidate in the 2023 General Election, Atiku Abubakar has protested over the report of the Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU that predicted the President Bola Tinubu’s election would be upheld by the presidential election  courts. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Adamawa State following the vilence that broke out in many parts of the state. The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has imposed travel bans on military officers involved in attempted coup in Niger republic. The body has also imposed a no flight zone on Niger following the coup that toppled the elected government of Mohamed Bazoum. The decision was reached at an extraordinary session of the ECOWAS authority of heads of state and government at the Nigerian State House, Abuja on Sunday. A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has “ordered the disclosure of the spending details of over N200bn public funds collected by the government of former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa from the Universal Basic Education Commission [UBEC] fund and allocations from the Federation Accounts.” The court ordered the Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to “disclose details of budgetary allocations and actual spending by the Okowa government between 2015 and 2019, including specific projects carried out to improve primary education in Delta State, and the locations of such projects. Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the payment of tax of N47 billion and raked in revenue of N277 billion for the half year ended June 30, 2023. The company made the disclosure in an unaudited and provisional results for the period signed by its Secretary, Mr Uaboi Agbebaku, on Saturday in Lagos. The revenue was higher when compared with N274.03 billion posted in the first half of 2022. The 24 passengers including the driver  of the Peace Mass Transit bus abducted on Wednesday while transiting through Kogi state have been rescued. Federal government says it has raked in $85.1million equivalent to over 44 billion  from petroleum firms operating in the country through penalties from January till date . The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, said it  raked in $85.1 million  as gas flare fines from petroleum firms operating in the country.  The Commission said the quantum of gas flared is determined by sophisticated tracking and measurement devices available to it and not just relying on data supplied by the operating companies whose equipment and procedures may not measure actual gas flare for the purpose of accounting and fines. …
