The Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, on Friday, explained why the Egbaland  plans to establish an Adire village in the state. Oba Gbadebo said it was for the preservation of the long-time heritage of Egbaland and to   stop the influx of Chinese-made Adire in the state. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has slammed a two-week ultimatum on the Federal Government over some unmet demands. The ultimatum is expected to commence on 7th October and elapse on 25th October 2024, following which the union may decide to down tools. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has pardoned 117 inmates serving various jail terms across the various correctional centres in the state. With 19 of the convicts regaining freedom, others on death row had their death sentences commuted to life imprisonment, with some of the inmates also given reduced sentences. A Kwara state Magistrate Court has sentenced a teenager, Olawumi Ayomide (m), who allegedly set a building on fire in Ilorin after stealing items belonging to the occupants. Magistrate M.A. Yahaya, found the suspect guilty and sentenced him to one year imprisonment at Mandala Correctional Centre without the option of a fine. Nigerian oil Marketers have revealed that Port Harcourt Refinery is in serious progress in its rehabilitation by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. Abubakar Maigandi, the President of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria disclosed this in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST on Monday.
