The Enugu State Government on Monday, shut 106 shops and two banks for allegedly observing Monday’s sit-at-home order by a faction of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra. Ogun State government on Monday, announced it’s plans to start paying  a sum.of N10,000 to the civil servants and pensioners as part of it’s  series of palliatives to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on fuel. No fewer than 529 foreign-trained medical and dental graduates have reportedly failed the council examinations to enable them practise in Nigeria. PLATFORM TIMES reports that the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria disclosed this. The MDCN explained that 704 medical and 30 dental foreign-trained graduates participated in the assessment examination following which only 189 medical graduates and 16 dental graduates passed the examination. It also revealed that 515 medical graduates and 14 dental graduates failed the examination. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudiness and thunderstorms from Monday to Wednesday across the country. PLATFORM TIMES gathered that NiMet’s weather output released in Abuja predicted cloudy skies over the northern region on Monday with prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Kebbi and Taraba in the morning hours. Two suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Monday, were arrested for plotting to attack the residence of former Vice president, and the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar in Yola, Adamawa State. The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested two young men for allegedly trying to arrange same-sex marriage in the state. Hisbah Commandant, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, who disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Saturday, said two young men named Khalifa and Abubakar were seen in a video, trying to kiss each other during a party, which is suspected to be their engagement party. A Magistrate’s Court in Umuahia, Abia State, has sentenced a 37-year-old man, Chiemela Ekeke to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl.
