The Director-General, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Dr Hajiya Zubaida Umar has revealed that so far, 1,061,254 Nigerians have been affected by the flood, 634,035 displaced and 94,741 houses submerged across the country this year. The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has canvassed  the establishment of a Military Forward operating base in the eastern part of the state to help curb cultism and other criminal activities in the area. An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded a 53-year-old man, Bitrus Daniyan, in a Correctional Centre for alleged indecent sexual assault of his seven-year-old daughter. The Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, who did not take Daniyan’s plea, ordered that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
