Peace Adedigba A Councilor, Nelson Sylvester, popularly known as Ofunwa, representing Eha-Ulo ward, in Nsukka Local Government Area Legislative Council, Enugu State, has been shot dead by unknown persons. The Enugu State Command confirmed the incident. It was gathered that the lawmaker was murdered by gunmen on Sunday night at his residence in Eha-Alumonah. A source disclosed that the assailants stormed the lawmaker’s house and started raining bullets on him. Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka has asked the Federal Government led by President Bola Tinubu to declare a national public holiday for traditionalists in the country. Lagos Magistrate’s Court has remanded a 24-year-old Sales apprentice, Michael Emenike, for allegedly conniving with four others to defraud his employer of the sum of N7,000,000. The police at the Area ‘A’ Command, Lion Building, Lagos Island, Lagos, arrested the apprentice and four others charged them over the alleged fraud included Bright Ndubuishi, 28; Kekereekun Nofisat, 28; a POS Operator, Onyinyechi Nwankwo Mary, 22 and Chinedu Obialor, 25. A Lagos-based female lawyer, Ebikpolade Helen has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for trafficking hard drugs . The female Lawyer reportedly specialises in the production and distribution of skuchies, a mixture of cannabis, opioids, and black currant in Akwa, the Anambra State. The lawyer was arrested following an earlier seizure of 5kg cannabis and 12 bottles of prepared skuchies in her apartment in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
