A Borno State High Court, Maiduguri has sentenced a man, Danladi Mohammed to one-year imprisonment for converting the proceeds of 8000 pieces of camping lanterns which he claimed were to be supplied to a United Nations agency. Mohammed was dragged to court by the Maiduguri Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before Justice Umaru Fadawu . The European Union Election Observation Mission has disclosed that the political parties that participated in the 2023 presidential elections spent N29m on campaign between January and March,2023. The mission explained that the amount was spent at the peak of the election campaign period.
