A seventy-six-year-old man, Mr Agwu Okorie Sampson has alleged that he has been denied access to the corpse of his daughter, Chidinma Okorie Sampson who he claimed died on March 10, 2024. A 29-year-old man, Tobiloba Ogunbo, is to spend the next seven years in a correctional centre for being a member of a secret cult. Ogunbo was convicted and sentenced by an Ogun Special Cultism Court in Abeokuta on Friday. The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Friday urged Southeast governors to implement a work-at-home policy following the current fuel price hike in Nigeria. Ohanaeze said the heightening cost of petrol has compounded the challenges facing Nigerians, creating an unbearable strain on the livelihoods of civil servants and workers in the Southeast. The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Anambra State Command, has said it will arrest drivers and impound vehicles without speed limit devices in the state. The FRSC Sector Commander, Mrs Joyce Alexander, said this at a news conference on Friday, in Awka. Alexander said that records had shown that the majority of road crashes were caused by speed violations resulting in tyre bursts and loss of control. The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, on Friday, handed over 53 recovered vehicles and 180, 300 dollars to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, RCMP, on behalf of the victims of financial crimes in Canada. While handing over the vehicles, Okukoyede said they were stolen from Canada and tracked to various car stands in Nigeria, adding that nine of the vehicles were tracked to a customs port, where they were awaiting clearance. Mountain Top University has achieved an exceptional feat by receiving an excellent rating of over 80% from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for its degree programs. The NUC recently approved five additional academic programs for the university, including Nursing Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Public Health, and Biomedical Technology. This brings the total number of NUC-accredited undergraduate programs at Mountain Top University to 32. An Ondo State Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Akure has remanded a pastor of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Oluwasegun Victor, in the correction centre for allegedly impregnating a minor. While arraigning the 31-year-old pastor on a one-count charge of unlawful sexual intercourse, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, informed the court that the suspect purportedly impregnated five other minors before the long arm of law caught up with him.
