The Benue State Government has rescued two children from Ukum and one from Katsina-Ala local government areas who were trafficked to Benin in Edo State. This was disclosed on Thursday by the chairman of Ukum Local Government Area, Jonathan Modi. He said the children who were trafficked to Benin were subjected to severe hardship and forced labour. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, said on Thursday that universities and other tertiary institutions in the country can now admit candidates who will turn 16 by August 31, 2025. The board announced that the affected candidates can be admitted for the 2024/2025 academic session if they meet the institution’s standards.
