The Benue State Government has rescued two children from Ukum and one from Katsina-Ala local government areas who were trafficked to Benin in Edo State. This was disclosed on Thursday by the chairman of Ukum Local Government Area, Jonathan Modi. He said the children who were trafficked to Benin were subjected to severe hardship and forced labour. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, said on Thursday that universities and other tertiary institutions in the country can now admit candidates who will turn 16 by August 31, 2025. The board announced that the affected candidates can be admitted for the 2024/2025 academic session if they meet the institution’s standards. The police in Niger State have confirmed the death of a yet-to-be-identified man after an alleged marathon sex with a lady at the Paiko Local Government Area lodge in the state. Nigeria’s headline inflation increased to 32.70 percent in September 2024 from 32.15 recorded in August amid the hike in the pump price of petrol. The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, disclosed this on Tuesday in its Consumer Price Index and Inflation report for September 2024.
