The National Bureau of Statistics has disclosed that the electricity distribution companies, otherwise called Discos has collected N232.32bn in Q4, 2022, bringing the total revenue raked in by the companies in six months to N479.65bn The NBS said Discos collected N247.33bn as revenue in the first quarter of 2023. Oyo State gov­ernment has described as fake the social media report that the new salary structure has been introduced . The Chief Press Secretary to Gov­ernor Seyi Makinde, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, said this on Wednesday. He stated that although the govern­ment is working on reviewing the current salary structure, the committee set up for that purpose was yet to turn in its report. “Therefore, the salary struc­ture being circulated could not have emanated from the state government. A 47-year-old acclaimed publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Daily Focus newspaper, Sanusi Inuwa has been sentenced by a Wuse Zone II Magistrates’ Court in Abuja, to three years in prison for N10.2 million fraud. The court imposed the sentence after finding Inuwa guilty of defrauding one Mr Hamza Galadima of the said amount. Magistrate Folashade Oyekan held that the police, who prosecuted the case, proved it beyond reasonable doubt. President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday reversed the transfer of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) out of the Office of the Vice President by his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari. Buhari had transferred supervision of NEMA from the Office of the Vice President to the then newly created Ministry Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development headed by Hajiyya Sadiyya Farouq.
