Parents of a Primary 2 pupil, Ojiyovwin Salvation, are lamenting the untimely death of their son at Eghereka Primary School, Ewu town in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State. Salvation met his untimely death yesterday when the block of six classrooms that collapsed fell on him and injured three others. The Defence Headquarters said that troops have denied oil thieves the estimated sum of N793,257,250 within one week. A statement by Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, said that troops also arrested 18 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 96 kidnapped hostages. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has slammed a two-week ultimatum on the Federal Government over some unmet demands. The ultimatum is expected to commence on 7th October and elapse on 25th October 2024, following which the union may decide to down tools. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has pardoned 117 inmates serving various jail terms across the various correctional centres in the state. A Kwara state Magistrate Court has sentenced a teenager, Olawumi Ayomide (m), who allegedly set a building on fire in Ilorin after stealing items belonging to the occupants. Magistrate M.A. Yahaya, found the suspect guilty and sentenced him to one year imprisonment at Mandala Correctional Centre without the option of a fine. Nigerian oil Marketers have revealed that Port Harcourt Refinery is in serious progress in its rehabilitation by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. Abubakar Maigandi, the President of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria disclosed this in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST on Monday.
