Fawaz Adebisi A Lagos resident, Ife Adekoya, has appeared in a Magistrate court on charges of luring and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. Adekoya, who was arraigned on July 26, has been held at Kirikiri Maximum Prison while awaiting advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPPs), as the case was adjourned until September 19. A statement by Head, Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani on Friday, said the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, disclosed this in Jos, Plateau State while monitoring the conduct of the examination in some Schools. Fawaz Adebisi President Bola Tinubu has formally informed the Senate of his decision to withdraw the nomination of a controversial  Kano nominee, Maryam Shetty as a Minister. The president also told the Senate that he would be replacing her with the nomination of  Mairiga Mahmud, also  from Kano State. The president took this step on Friday, as he expanded the roster of ministerial nominees to include  his campaign spokesperson, Festus Keyamo, SAN. Maryam Shetty was originally part of the President’s initial list of 19  candidates, which had been previously submitted to the National Assembly for their scrutiny and approval.

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) took a surprising turn as it submitted a Certified True Copy of Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun’s result to  the Ogun State Election Petition Tribunal. This move comes after an earlier claim that the council does not retain duplicate certificates. An official from WAEC’s Lagos office, Olufemi Olaleye, had previously appeared before the Isabo-based tribunal on July 20 following a subpoena.
