The Zazzau Emirate Council on Tuesday,suspended indefinitely the Marafan Yamman Zazzau, Alhaji Mustapha Adamu, for flogging an alleged homosexual in the ancient city of Zaria, in Kaduna State. A statement released by the Council’s Information and Communications Officer, Abdullahi Aliyu, said the indefinite suspension of the title holder, was with immediate effect. The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria, has disclosed that it generated N567 million revenue from 210,299 viewers across cinemas in the country for the month of June. The National Chairman of CEAN, Opeyemi Ajayi, disclosed this in Lagos on Tuesday. The United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF has said Nigeria will need to build no fewer than 3.9 million toilets annually to meet the ending open defecation practice by 2025 target. Also, Zaid Jurji, head of WASH at UNICEF Nigeria, said Nigeria needs an estimated N959 billion ($2.7 billion) to end open defecation by 2025.
