Rivers State Police Command says its operatives have rescued a teenager, who was kidnapped in Enugu and transported to Port Harcourt in a ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag. The State police commissioner, Mr Olatunji Disu, made this disclosure during a news conference in Port Harcourt on Wednesday. The Osun State Police Command has arrested suspected members of the proscribed Yoruba Nation. Out of 1,972 women screened for cervical cancer in Adamawa State, 165 have tested positive. This was disclosed on Tuesday during a meeting of the state task force on primary health care, organised by the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency at the Government House in Yola. The Federal Government says the 115 Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) in the country will soon be unbundled into basic and secondary schools. The outgoing Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has warned that the civil servants would be the first victim if his candidate, Asue Ighodalo does not win the next Saturday Governorship election in the State. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it is illegal and unconstitutional for Julius Abure to continue parading himself as the National Chairman of the Labour Party, LP. The electoral body said it no longer recognises Abure or other members of the party’s national working committee, as their tenures expired in June 2024.
