No fewer than 30 persons were on Monday convicted by a magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, for violating the state’s environmental sanitation law during the May edition of the monthly clean-up exercise. A Federal High Court sitting in Kano State has convicted and sentenced 29 internet fraudsters to jail.The convicts were prosecuted by the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on separate one-count charges each, on offences that border on impersonation, cybercrime, retention of proceeds of crime and money laundering. Bandits have released Yakubu Dada, who was abducted alongside his youngest wife, Lami, along Kontagora Road in Niger State on October 31, 2024.
