A 19-year-old Nigerian student, Anas Zubairu, has been murdered by suspected kidnappers in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, despite his family paying a ransom of N17 million for his release. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has reached an agreement to sell crude oil to Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Naira. Oyo State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned a 39-year-old man, Ganiyu Abiola, over alleged defamation of the character of a police officer through Facebook and WhatsApp. Abiola, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of defamation and breach of peace before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court.
