Medical doctors in Anambra State have suspended the indefinite strike they declared on Thursday after three days. The doctors under the aegis of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) had declared the strike, following the kidnap of one of their colleagues. The Niger State Commissioner of Police Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman has ordered the destruction of improvised explosive devices and bombs recovered from various locations during multiple counter-insurgency operations with other security agencies in the state. He stated this in Minna where he said the improvised explosives destroyed were those recovered between 2021 and 2023. Hundreds of patients were stranded at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, on Monday following the strike by the Association of Resident Doctors, ARD, of the hospital. The Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, of the Nigeria Police, Alagbon, in Lagos, has arrested 11 persons over alleged involvement in impersonation and hijacking of imported drugs.
