The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has taken note of allegations of wrong figures entered in result sheets from polling units in Saturday’s Edo State governorship election. The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barrister Asue Ighodalo has raised the alarm over alleged voting buying in the ongoing election in the state. A man, Ogidan Mustapha has been arrested by men  of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly severing the hands of his neighbour’s dead 13-year-old child in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state. PLATFORM TIMES reports that Mustapha was arrested at about 1:30 am on Friday while trying to dump the body of the deceased near Igbosoro River in Igode village. Hours before the commencement of the off-cycle governorship election in Edo, the state government said soldiers had repelled some suspected thugs that attempted to invade the Oredo Local Government Secretariat of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, said on Friday that troops eliminated 159 terrorists and apprehended about 174 others in the past week. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj Gen Edward Buba, disclosed this in Abuja while giving an update on armed forces’ operations across the country. Three policemen arrested and detained for the alleged murder of the Kwara State Polytechnic student, Abdulqoyyum Abdulyekeen Ishola, have reportedly been dismissed from the police force.
