The House of Representatives Committee on Basic Examination Bodies has demanded an explanation from the West African Examination Council (WAEC) regarding a financial discrepancy in its 2023 operations.  Despite generating N34 billion, the examination body reported an expenditure of N40 billion, raising concerns over a N6 billion deficit. Former Senior Counsellor and Chairman of the Kaduna State Economic Development Council, Chief Jimi Adebisi Lawal,has dismissed reports suggesting that he is under watch by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for failing to respond to an invitation concerning a purported N11 billion light rail project.
