The command also urged Nigerians to stop stigmatising ex-inmates, warning that rejection by society could undermine rehabilitation efforts and increase the risk of reoffending. The Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, Prof. Odunayo Adebooye, has called for the immediate trial and summary dismissal of soldiers accused of attacking and sexually assaulting students at private hostels in Osogbo, Osun State. The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation has commenced the liquidation of 46 microfinance banks whose operating licences were revoked by the Central Bank of Nigeria, assuring depositors that the payment of insured deposits to eligible customers has begun. The All Progressives Congress has removed six senatorial candidates and 19 House of Representatives aspirants from its final list of nominees submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission ahead of the 2027 general elections. The affected candidates were dropped following the recommendations of the party’s Primary Election Appeal Committee, which were subsequently reviewed and approved by the National Working Committee.
