Operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) have rescued eight children suspected to have been stolen from Kano and other parts of northern Nigeria and trafficked to the South-East and South-South regions by a wanted inter-state child trafficking syndicate. The Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have issued a fresh seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government, threatening to shut down public universities nationwide if their outstanding demands are not met.
